You are viewing this fantastic batch of reclaimed Westmorland green random roofing slates salvaged from a property in North Wales.
Westmorland slate has been used on roofs all over the country for hundreds of years and because the slate is made of volcanic ash means its unlike any other slate of this sort in terms of quality and durability.
This can be seen when roof timber and building structures are failing but yet the slate is capable of being stripped, re-dressed and used time and time again.
This type of slate is quarried in the lake district and is only really made into one sort of slate that being random sized however we do have about a crates worth of smaller sized slates (12×6) that can be used maybe as a diminishing course i.e.. using the smaller slates on the top coursers nearer the ridgeline and the larger slates as the eaves.
We have a large range of random slates in our yard such as: Penrhyn Purple, Westmorland Green, Llangynog/Swithland Grey, Burlington Grey/Blue so please do get in touch with our sales team if it is a specific type you are after.
